Description

Every 10 minutes, a police officer in the UK is attacked or assaulted in the line of duty. Police officers and staff will experience up to 600 traumatic events during the course of their career and up to one in five may be suffering from the effects of untreated PTSD or complex PTSD. Working independently from the government and police forces Police Care UK is the national trauma support charity that supports serving and veteran police officers and staff, volunteers, and their families who have suffered any physical or psychological harm as a result of policing.

Across the UK, our police officers and staff work tirelessly to keep our communities safe, and are there for us all in times of need to ensure public safety without question, despite the very real risks to their own personal wellbeing. Police Care UK are there for the police when they need it the most.

Police Care UK provide a confidential program of practical, emotional, and financial support. They identify and help to fill gaps in care, provide support for those in need, and act as a lifeline for those who carry the physical and psychological scars of public service - building a future where no one suffering harm is left without help.

As they enter an exciting period of growth, transformation and clinical excellence, Police Care UK is expanding their Board with individuals who bring diverse skills, experience and perspectives across three specialist areas to strengthen the board and replace existing Trustees as they end their current term.

Finance: Finance Directors/ Chief Financial Officers with experience of working at board level.

Clinical Provision: Clinical Directors who specialise in mental health provision, ideally specialising in trauma, and or PTSD support services and who bring experience of working at board level.

Fundraising: Fundraising Directors/ Chief Executives with experience of developing a range of income streams and who bring both experience of working at board level and the capacity to introduce key contacts with the potential to support at a transformational level

This is an exciting time to join Police Care UK as they embark on a new strategy to build upon and further refine their services for those harmed in the line of service while protecting us all.
